Maritime Week thus. From 3 to 9 August, the Zuiderzee Museum smells, sounds and lives as of old. Step aboard, watch the historic fishing vessels in the harbour, taste the atmosphere and listen to powerful sailor stories that will make you stand up straight by themselves.
In 't Zuiderzeeedorp, there is plenty to do. Shanty choirs will be making themselves heard at various places in the village throughout the week. And the old crafts are also in full swing: fish smoking, ship smithing, sail making, tub making and rope making. In the Marker harbour, you can see what is being brought in at the fishing demonstrations. It doesn't get any fresher than this.
