10 and 11 October
Rope in your hands, water on your skin and your gaze at infinity. On 10 and 11 October, the 51st Enkhuizer Klipperrace erupts. A weekend long battle on the water.
Saturday, the spectacle starts in the Krabbersgat near Enkhuizen. The spectacular anchor start can be clearly seen along the old sea wall. Everything lies still. Until it suddenly breaks loose. Sails up, head into the wind and go. The route passes buoys at Medemblik, Stavoren and Urk. Two rounds, steady course back to Enkhuizen.
Sunday remains sharp. Then the clippers sail a tight course. The classes start shortly after each other, the lines cross and the boats stay close together. This is not a round of bobbing. This is sailing to the last metre. There is also opportunity to sail along for free to watch the race from the water on the MS Friesland.
After the finish, the party continues. With prize giving and everything d'r op and d'r an.
