What to expect.
You can walk straight in from the Gedempte Turfhaven. Inside, you’ll smell coffee, bread and something warm from the kitchen. On the table you’ll find sourdough bread, Molenaarsbrood, salad, apple pie or a dinner featuring seasonal produce. At the back, the city garden awaits. No fuss, but plenty of choice. And yes, that apple pie has a name here.
Practical information
Allow about an hour for lunch. High tea takes longer; according to De Tuynkamer, it lasts 2½ hours. According to the venue, parking is available in front of the restaurant. Except on Thursdays, parking is free and right outside the door after 6.00 pm. Bringing your dog? Check with the restaurant beforehand to see if dogs are welcome. The menu features gluten-free and lactose-free options. The kitchen is happy to accommodate any allergies.
