At De Kampeertuin, you can camp amongst old pear trees in Wijdenes. It’s a peaceful mini-campsite with plenty of greenery, flowers and privacy. The Markermeer is within cycling distance. Simply pitch your tent, set up your caravan or park your campervan. No fuss is needed here.

Come between mid-March and early October. The orchard is in bloom in spring. In summer, you can cycle straight to the small beaches on the Markermeer. September here often still feels like late summer, but a little quieter.

You pitch your tent, caravan or campervan amongst the pear trees. All around you are flowers, shrubs and greenery left to grow naturally. You can hear birds, rustling leaves and, now and then, a bike passing along the road. The campsite is small, peaceful and car-free on the grounds. Homemade pear juice is on sale – a lovely bonus.
Practical information
De Kampeertuin is suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Motorhomes eight metres or longer are permitted only by prior arrangement. You can park your car in the car park to keep the site quiet. Dogs are not allowed. Showers are available without a token system and there is a disposal point for chemical toilets.
Tips in Westfriesland
Cycle to the beaches on the Markermeer or spend a day in Hoorn or Enkhuizen . For places to eat nearby, De Kampeertuin recommends, amongst others, Eetcafé ’t Kennet, Café De Roode Leeuw and Brasserie Westwoud. Do check the opening times.
