The old town hall of Schellinkhout stands on Dorpsweg. Small in size, but with a rich history. The weigh house was once located downstairs. The town council met upstairs. And under the stairs? There was even a dungeon there.

You can see a rectangular building dating from 1765, with a platform staircase, hipped roof and dormer window. Inside, you’ll find the old council chamber with tiled walls and tiled murals from 1782. Downstairs, the building once served as a weigh house. Beneath the stairs was a small dungeon. Administrative, practical and austere. Simply everything under one roof.
