At KiteFEEL, you can learn to kitesurf on the Markermeer. With the wind in your kite, water up to your knees and Schellinkhout behind you. The surf centre has changing rooms, toilets and hot showers. Handy, because coming home dry is worth something too.

When will you visit here?
On a day with a good wind from the south, south-west, west or west-north-west, Schellinkhout is ideal for kitesurfing lessons. When the wind is blowing from other directions, KiteFEEL sometimes moves to Medemblik.
What to expect.
You’re standing on a spacious lawn by the water. The kite tugs at your lines, the wind pushes against your wetsuit. The water in the bay is shallow, perfect for your first few metres. Afterwards, you rinse off with a hot shower. Not an unnecessary luxury, but certainly a treat.

A lesson usually lasts a couple of hours, depending on the package and the wind. KiteFEEL is situated right next to the kitesurfing spot in Schellinkhout. Parking is available on site. Course participants and members have access to changing rooms, toilets and hot showers.
Tips in West Friesland
Combine your lesson with a walk along the dyke at Schellinkhout. Hoorn is also nearby for a coffee, lunch or a stroll along the harbour. Do check opening times and availability in advance.
