A lovely farm shop with a wide selection of cheeses and local produce. We were allowed to sample various flavours and then took a short stroll around the farmyard. The staff were very helpful. A great place to visit for anyone who loves local produce.
The Berkhout family has been making Gouda cheese in Hoogwoud since 1974. They use milk from their own cows. You’ll find cheeses ranging from young to mature, plain or flavoured with herbs.
Yes, you can sample various cheeses in the shop. As well as cheese, they sell nuts, dips, mustard, jam and other local produce. Plenty of tasty treats to take home, then.
You’re welcome to take a stroll around the farmyard and have a look at the cows and calves. In spring, there are sometimes lambs too. Please do watch out for tractors and other machinery. It is, after all, a working farm.
