The Flessenscheepjesmuseum is located in the 17th-century Spuihuisje, near the Drommedaris. Inside are over a thousand bottle ships from all sorts of periods and countries. Small museum, big fuss. And we mean that well.

Practical information
Allow up to an hour for your visit. This is also in line with the museum’s booking information. The venue is small and historic, right in the centre of Enkhuizen. Free parking is available on the large car park behind the railway station, about a ten-minute walk away. On Sundays, parking in the town centre is free, except on Sundays when shops are open. The museum is not accessible to wheelchair users. There is no clear information online regarding dogs or dietary options. There is a museum shop.
When are you welcome?
You are welcome on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 12 noon to 5pm. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the museum remains closed. Please make reservations at least 24 hours in advance.
Our tip for your visit
Combine your visit with a tour of Drommedaris and harbour. Everything is close together. Saves walking. And you stay nicely in the ship's corner.

The Bottle Ship Museum is a small museum in Enkhuizen housing the world’s largest collection of bottle ships. The entire collection comprises around a thousand examples from various countries and periods. Several hundred of these are on permanent display in the historic Spuihuisje.
A bottle ship is built outside the bottle and then slid through the neck of the bottle with its masts folded down. The masts are then pulled upright using pieces of string. In the museum, an instructional video demonstrates how this precise craft works. Meticulous fiddly work, solid craftsmanship.
Yes, the museum is particularly fun for children who enjoy going on treasure hunts, looking at ships and discovering small details. There is a children’s treasure hunt with tasks to complete as they explore the unusual bottles.
