You’re in a repurposed Rijkswaterstaat building dating from 1907. Outside, you can look out over the harbours, ferry services, the Drommedaris and the Vuurtje. Inside, the table is laden with coffee, cakes, lunch, tapas or dinner. The menu also includes allergen information. It’s not a stuffy affair. Just food, drink and water right in front of you.
Practical information
Rijksmagazijn is situated on Tussen Twee Havens, close to the tourist information centre, the railway station and the ferry terminal. Free parking is available behind the station or at Dirk Chinaplein. Whilst external websites mention wheelchair accessibility, please always check this directly with Rijksmagazijn if you have any mobility-related queries. Rijksmagazijn asks that any allergen requirements be mentioned at the time of booking. That’s certainly clear.
When are you welcome?
Rijksmagazijn is open on Fridays from 3.00 pm to 11.00 pm, Saturdays from 11.00 am to 11.00 pm and Sundays from 11.00 am to 10.00 pm. Groups, parties and celebrations can also be arranged outside of opening days. Please book in advance, of course.
Our tip for your visit
Ask for a spot with a view of the harbour. Especially when the boats are still out. Then you’ll have something to look at whilst you’re having a drink. It doesn’t cost anything extra, but it really makes a difference.
