The Bamboo Room

The restaurant is situated on Kerkstraat, close to the Roode Steen. It’s the perfect spot for shared dining, lunch, cocktails and non-alcoholic mocktails. It’s all about relaxed dining and trying new flavours.

The menu draws inspiration from Surinamese, Asian and South American cuisine. Don’t expect a set three-course menu, but rather small dishes that are served from the kitchen as soon as they’re ready.

For each round, you choose a selection of canapés to share. That way, you get to try more, and nobody has to spend the whole evening eyeing their neighbour’s plate with envy. Would you rather be surprised? Then the team can put together a menu based on your preferences.

On Fridays and Saturdays, The Bamboo Room is also open for lunch. The menu includes ramen, Japanese sandwiches and dishes to share. There are a few child-friendly options available, although there is no separate children’s menu.

Fancy a slightly more elaborate meal? Then book a tropical high tea with sweet and savoury bites. There’s also a High Cocktail: three courses of food paired with a matching cocktail or mocktail. This package can be served entirely vegan.

Cocktails are freshly made behind the bar – so no ready-made mixes from the tap. As well as cocktails, the menu features mocktails, smoothies, coffee and other drinks.

You can settle down indoors or take a seat on the terrace. The terrace is covered and equipped with heaters. Handy, as the West Frisian summer doesn’t always go to plan.

The Bamboo Room serves vegetarian and vegan dishes for lunch, dinner and dessert. It is best to inform the restaurant of any allergies in advance. An allergen information sheet is available on the website. Due to the small size of the kitchen, cross-contamination cannot be completely ruled out.

The Bamboo Room is situated at Kerkstraat 1 in Hoorn, right on the Roode Steen. The restaurant serves dinner from Tuesday to Saturday from 5.00 pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, you can have lunch there from 12.00 noon. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Always check the current opening hours before you set off.

There is space for a limited number of tables inside. It is therefore advisable to book, particularly at weekends. The side entrance is accessible via a ramp for wheelchair users. There is no accessible toilet on site.
