Museum Twisca is housed in the old town hall of Twisk. Inside, the focus is on the village itself: old artefacts, photographs, stories and archaeological finds. It’s not a large, flashy museum. Rather, it’s Twisk as it used to be – and, in some ways, still is.

Do drop by on a Sunday between June and September. In 2026, Museum Twisca will also be open on Sunday 4 October and Sunday 1 November. The museum is open from 11.00 to 15.00. Outside these dates, visits may be possible by appointment.

What to expect.
You step inside the former Twisk town hall, built in 1889. In the old council chamber, you’ll find, amongst other things, excavated pottery, a cheese vats from 1851, a village chest from 1700, carpenter’s tools and handicrafts. The cellar provides space for a themed exhibition. Village history, in other words. Small, but firmly rooted.
Practical information
Museum Twisca is situated at Dorpsweg 87, opposite Coenplein. According to Visit Medemblik , there are several parking options there. A visit to the museum can easily be combined with a walk through Twisk or a cycle ride through the surrounding area. Information regarding dogs, full accessibility and dietary options is not clearly stated. Medekernen states that the admission fee for 2026 will be €5, including coffee or tea. Children up to and including the age of 12 are admitted free of charge.
When are you welcome?
