At Museum ’t Loosje in Opmeer , you can delve into the history of Simon Loos. What began in 1938 with a single Ford grew into a major West Frisian logistics company. In the museum, you can see over sixty historic lorries from the private collection of Piet and Marian Loos.
The collection takes you on a journey through the history of Simon Loos. Along the way, you’ll come across some remarkable lorries that were once part of the fleet. These include a Scania Torpedo, a restored Kromhout, a rare Büssing and various Bedford lorries.
A small group of volunteers keeps the vehicles in top condition. And they really know their stuff. So during your visit, you might just bump into them for a chat or a guided tour.

His son Piet joined the company in 1957. Initially as a co-driver, later as a driver and eventually as the head of the business. His pride in the family business led to the idea of setting up his own museum in 2015. The collection will open to the public in 2023.
You can explore Museum ’t Loosje at your own pace or join a guided group tour. These tours start at 10.30 am and 1.00 pm on regular opening days.
