Buddy Vedder, Glodi Lugungu, Birthe Blom: these are just a few of the artists kicking off the new cultural season at Hoorn Opent. For just €5 (including a drink), you’ll enjoy a full evening’s programme of cabaret and music by national and local talent.
On the programme Be treated to a varied line-up featuring, amongst others, Buddy Vedder (who will be appearing next season at Het Park in *Al het blauw van de hemel*) and comedian Glodi Lugungu (who can be seen this season in the Friday Comedy Night series at Het Park and Theater Het Pakhuis). In addition, leading and up-and-coming artists from the region will shine on stage, such as violinist Birthe Blom, De Dansonderneming, choreographer and dancer Jort Faber, city poet Levi Noë, actor Cas Schoots and N.W.3. – winner of Battle of the Schoolbands 2026. The event will be hosted by Hoorn cabaret artist Marc Nochem (known for his work with Het Gilde, amongst others).

Presentation of the Hoorn Art and Culture Prize During the evening, the Hoorn Artand CulturePrize will also be awarded: a lifetime achievement award for a creator who has made an exceptional contribution to cultural life in Westfriesland. Hoorn Opent is organised by Cultuur Hoorn: the collaborative platform comprising more than forty cultural organisations and creators from the city. Hoorn Culture Weekend 2026 The Hoorn Culture Weekend marks the festive start of the new cultural season. From 4 to 6 September 2026, the historic city centre will be transformed into one huge stage for theatre, music, literature and the visual arts. Dozens of venues will open their doors, and at the culture market you can discover the city’s rich offering.
