The Weel en Braken windmill stands amongst the farmland near Obdam. An old swing mill dating from 1632, built to keep the polder dry. No grand spectacle. Just wood, thatch, wind and water. Still a firm fixture in the landscape.

For cyclists, walkers and windmill enthusiasts. Also ideal for those who want to see West Frisian heritage without a long guided tour or a packed itinerary. You come here for the setting, the views and the story of the polder.
When will you visit here?
Do pop in during a cycle ride through Obdam and the surrounding area. On Sundays when the mill is in operation, it is open to visitors. Groups are welcome by appointment.
